From Thunderstorms to the Northern Lights:
It’s hard to imagine that some people go to work alongside breathtaking sunrises, puffy clouds, and even The Northern Lights on a daily basis. But that’s what you admire at work if you’re a pilot. Also, it turns out that this job takes first place among the most right-swiped jobs for males, according to the Tinder dating app.
AN Aviation Co. would like to introduce you to 3 pilots who want to share with you just how beautiful the world is from inside the cockpit.
1. Christiaan van Heijst
Christiaan has wanted to be a pilot since he was 10 years old and can now say he has fulfilled that dream. He brought a camera along on this trip to give his friends and family a chance to see what he witnesses during his flights.
He exposes the unique views he sees from his cockpit, like falling meteorites.
“We encountered a huge front of active thunderstorms flying in thick clouds with zero visibility.”
He captures natural wonders like The Northern Lights.
A shot of an Airbus A340 passing overhead.
This is what his office looks like. Too many buttons!
2. Maria Pettersson
Statistics show that only 5% of all pilots in the world are women — and Maria is one of them. This pilot is breaking stereotypes left and right in the male-dominated profession. Maria is currently ranked as First Officer, making her the second-in-charge just after the captain.
She loves that her job satisfies her passion for traveling.
Fluffy clouds are her office view.
With a flying license, you can even handle the controls of fighter jets.
3. Santiago Borja
After graduating from school as a Computer and Systems Engineer, Santiago Borja chose to follow his dreams and discover the world as a pilot. He wanted to share the spectacular views he enjoyed on his trips by practicing photography.
“Few times I’ve seen such concentration of storms. It was a pure red return on the radar…”
“I’ve never seen lightning like this one.”
A clear, moonless night.
There’s no doubt that these pilots have one of the most amazing jobs on the planet! We are grateful to them for giving us the opportunity to admire some of the magic this world has to offer straight from their “office window.”
